Full Stack Engineer

Aonics is a Physical AI company building the operator layer for the field: the intelligence that commands fleets of autonomous robots inspecting and maintaining physical infrastructure. We start with solar construction and maintenance, where hundreds of thousands of panels per site have made manual inspection structurally impossible. Our rovers run fully autonomously across utility-scale sites, carrying radiometric thermal, RGB, and LiDAR sensors that find component-level defects and tag them on the asset’s digital twin. Photon, our AI assistant, lets a single remote operator command the fleet and direct its work in natural language. We are a venture-backed team based in San Francisco, with robots deployed at customer sites across the US, Europe, and India. The Role You will own our customer-facing platform: the multi-tenant web application customers use to review findings and manage their sites, and the API behind it. This is a high-ownership role; you will take features from requirements through design, implementation, deployment, and support. Responsibilities Own the customer portal end to end, across the Django API and the React frontend Build multi-tenant features with per-customer data isolation Build map-based interfaces for site layouts and findings Own the data path from the field into the platform Deploy your own work and act as first responder for customer-reported issues Requirements 2+ years building and shipping production web applications end to end Strong Python and Django, including API design Strong TypeScript and React; we use Vite, Tailwind, shadcn/ui, and TanStack Query Postgres beyond CRUD: schema design, query performance, multi-tenant access patterns Experience operating what you build in production Able to work independently on a small team with limited process Preferred PostGIS or other geospatial data work Mapping interfaces such as Google Maps JS or Mapbox WebRTC or live streaming, particularly LiveKit Auth0 or a similar identity provider with organization-based multi-tenancy Comfortable in a containerized dev environment and deploying through CI (AWS, Terraform, GitHub Actions) Robotics, IoT, or sensor data systems Details
