Operations DriverLocation: MariettaPay: $20/hourHours: 1st ShiftSummary: This role is primarily centered around thriving in a fast-paced work setting, with a strong emphasis on efficiently loading and unloading plant material. Responsibilities encompass the loading and unloading of trucks for both outbound shipments and inbound deliveries, as well as providing plant care and nursery upkeep. Exceptional customer service skills are essential when interacting with both internal and external clients. Operations Laborer/Drivers are friendly, outgoing, cheerful and professional. They do the job once and do it right, while exhibiting pride in their work. When needed, Direct Operations Laborers/Drivers ensure the timely delivery or pick-up of products for customers on delivery routes, loading and unloading trucks, checking material and paperwork for accuracy, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.Primary Responsibilities:Receive, unload, count, position, and maintain all plants and associated materials in the sales yardServe customers in the yard. Build relationships with foreman and crews associated to our customer baseSelect and stage orders for customers as directed by branch management and sales staff while demonstrating the ability to be a team playerLoad sales orders onto trucks for delivery/pick-up, maintain accurate paperwork and accurately audit material during the loading/unloading processOwn and practice safe work practices and behaviorsUse and operate radio communication in a professional manner with all other employeesOperate skid steer and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE) under OSHA certification as requiredSpace, jam, prune, weed, fertilize, water, or take other plant care measures to keep plants healthyServe the customer and care for the product and team during deliveries and pick-up operations while representing the Company brand in a professional mannerEnsure all paperwork is accurate and complete prior to leaving for delivery and turned in to required parties upon returnSafely operate and maintain the Company owned, leased, and rented vehiclesPerform required pre-operation and post-operation user maintenance and complete required reportsMaintain required drivers inspections and necessary papers in accordance with DOT laws and regulationsMust know and abide by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration truck driver guide for hours of service, including driver hours, duty hours and rest requirementsMaintain an up-to-date driver's license to include current residential address as required by state lawPerform other duties as requiredRequired Skills, Knowledge, and Training:Education: High School diploma, secondary diploma, or equivalent desiredSkills and Training: Possesses strong communication skills, with clear understanding when speaking (Fluent English) Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Valid driver's license (Current State) and active DOT health card required Previous experience driving a 26' straight truck required Ability to accurately maintain and submit driver inspection reports Ability and desire to learn plant names and location in the yard One or more years of safe driving record Ability to navigate to locations using a map or other devicePhysical Requirements: Prolonged walking and standing Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedly Ability to work a flexible schedule (M-F) including early mornings, after business hours and occasional weekend deliveries Ability to work in severe weather conditions, both heat and cold
