Job Purpose As a Logistics Manager based out of our Wayne, MI yard, you will lead a team of drivers while coordinating daily logistics operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality waste collection services. Acting as a liaison between drivers, customers, and internal teams, you will provide real-time support, oversee route performance, and drive continuous improvements to enhance both the driver and customer experience.
Duties and Responsibilities Supervise and support a team of drivers, including daily oversight, coaching, and performance management
Assign and adjust routes and carrier responsibilities to ensure efficient service delivery
Provide real-time support to drivers throughout their routes, resolving service, safety, and equipment issues
Serve as the escalation point for customer concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution
Communicate with drivers and internal teams via phone, Microsoft Teams chat, and video
Collaborate with logistics, customer service, and quality teams to drive service excellence
Track, trace, and update the status of daily waste removal routes using internal systems
Monitor route performance and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirementsAssist with onboarding and training of new drivers and provide ongoing coaching
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and implement operational enhancements
Monitor waste storage areas, documentation, equipment, and procedures from the Wayne, MI yard
Qualifications 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field; supervisory experience required
Strong knowledge of routing, dispatch, and fleet operations
Proven leadership, communication, and team development skills
Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and logistics/route management systems
Customer-focused with strong organizational and time management abilities
