Technical Project ManagerWomble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is seeking a Technical Project Manager for any of our Womble locations. The Technical Project Manager owns intake, discovery, and delivery coordination across the portfolio. This role bridges practice group stakeholders and engineering teams by running structured intake, maintaining project tracking in Azure DevOps, and keeping workstreams moving without Director involvement at every step. The Technical Project Manager understands enough of the technical domain to scope work accurately, identify risk, and hold engineering teams accountable to commitments.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOwn the intake process for all incoming requests from practice group leaders and business stakeholdersRun structured discovery sessions to define scope, requirements, success criteria, and constraints before work enters the engineering backlogTranslate business needs into well-formed user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria in Azure DevOpsMaintain and groom the EA project backlog in collaboration with engineers and the DirectorLead sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives across active workstreamsTrack delivery progress, surface blockers early, and coordinate resolution across internal teams and vendorsOwn stakeholder communication for projects in flight, including status updates, risk escalation, and milestone reportingProduce and maintain project documentation including charters, decision logs, and dependency mapsCoordinate resource allocation across parallel workstreams in collaboration with the Director and Engineering ManagerManage vendor and partner engagement on project-level activities including timelines, deliverables, and acceptance criteriaIdentify and mitigate delivery risk throughout the project lifecycleEnsure all project work is tracked in Azure DevOps and visible to stakeholdersSupport change management activities including communications, training coordination, and cutover planningPartner with QA to ensure test coverage is planned and executed before production deploymentFacilitate post-delivery retrospectives and document lessons learnedProvide the Director with a clear, current view of portfolio status, risk, and capacityRequirements:Demonstrated experience managing technical projects in an Agile or hybrid Agile environment, including ownership of sprint ceremonies and backlog managementProficiency with Azure DevOps for project tracking, backlog management, and sprint planningStrong ability to run structured discovery and translate business requirements into actionable engineering work itemsExperience managing stakeholder relationships across business and technical audiences, including executive-level communicationComfortable working in a technical environment with enough domain fluency to scope work, challenge estimates, and identify risk without being a developerProven ability to coordinate parallel workstreams across a small, high-output team without creating overheadExperience with delivery risk identification, escalation, and mitigationStrong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear status updates, decision logs, and project documentationFamiliarity with Microsoft 365 including Teams and SharePoint as collaboration surfacesLaw firm experience preferredCompensation: The national average salary range for this role is $88,000 - $155,500.
