Purpose The Warehouse Associate at

Chicago O'Hare International Airport Distribution Center

is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including receiving, organizing, and distributing merchandise to retail locations. This role ensures accurate inventory control, compliance with safety standards, and timely replenishment to maintain operational efficiency in a fast-paced airport retail environment.

Key Responsibilities Receive, count, and verify incoming merchandise; report shortages or overages to management promptly.

Process and complete all required documentation for merchandise returns to vendors.

Assist with stock replenishment for sales floors and backrooms; ensure timely and accurate product placement.

Isolate, sort, and organize damaged or outdated products for supplier credits and returns.

Maintain accurate inventory records; assist with cycle counts and annual physical inventories.

Notify management of out-of-stock items and assist in placing stock orders as needed.

Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely to move inventory.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards.

Assist with trash removal, recycling, and general warehouse upkeep.

Support effective communication and teamwork between warehouse staff and management.

Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required.

Previous warehouse experience preferred, including inventory handling and order processing.

Experience operating pallet jacks or other material handling equipment required.

Technical Skills Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Familiarity with warehouse management systems; SAP experience preferred.

Valid driver’s license preferred.

Ability to obtain OSHA forklift/MHE certification (or willingness to complete upon hire).

Time Management – Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Teamwork & Communication – Works effectively with peers and management to achieve operational goals.

Problem-Solving – Identifies and resolves basic operational issues promptly.

Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs regularly.

Frequent bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.

Exposure to varying temperatures (including coolers/freezers) and noise levels.

PPE use as required (e.g., safety shoes, gloves, high-visibility vests).

Schedule & Reporting Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse Manager.

Classification: Non-Exempt (FLSA).

Schedule: Full-time with flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
