Job Description: Mechanical Engineer Compensation: $75K—$115K yearly (with performance bonus). Schedule: Mon‑Fri 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, 401K, Life insurance, etc.
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team, focused on the design and development of medium‑voltage switchgear systems. This role involves creating and maintaining detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and manufacturing documentation using CAD tools. You'll play a key role in the product lifecycle, collaborating cross‑functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams to deliver reliable and efficient power distribution equipment.
Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings for MV switchgear components.
Design custom sheet metal parts, busbars, and enclosure assemblies per project requirements.
Generate and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering change orders, and technical documentation.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve design issues and implement redlines from the shop floor.
Interpret project specifications, industry standards (e.g., UL891), and customer requirements to ensure compliance.
Support the creation of project documentation and production assets.
Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an associate degree with 2+ years of relevant design experience.
Proficient in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred; SolidWorks acceptable).
Experience designing sheet metal and copper busbar components.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and DFM principles.Ability to create detailed, production‑ready drawings and technical documentation.
Preferred:
Background in medium‑voltage switchgear or switchboard design.
Knowledge of UL891, ISO9001, and lean manufacturing principles.
Familiarity with ERP systems and engineering change workflows.
Experience working in a fast‑paced, multi‑project environment.
