Assistant Controller / Controller

A leading $1.5B AUM venture capital firm is seeking a professional to join its lean finance and operations team. This is a broad, high-impact role spanning fund accounting, finance, operations, and process improvement , with significant exposure to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Oversee and review fund accounting, NAVs, capital activity, financial statements, and investor reporting.

Manage relationships with third-party fund administrators, auditors, tax providers, and other service providers.

Support management company accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.

Partner with investment and operational teams on fund and portfolio-related activities.

Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting and operational processes.

Help implement new technology and systems as the firm continues to scale.

Support senior leadership with financial reporting, analysis, and strategic projects.

Qualifications

2-6 years of accounting/finance experience, ideally within venture capital, private equity, or alternative investments.

Strong fund accounting and financial reporting experience.

Experience working with third-party fund administrators.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Comfortable working in a lean, entrepreneurial environment with significant ownership.

CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred.
