Material Handler Night Shift

Job Description

Material Handler Night ShiftOperates forklift to receive, deliver, and otherwise move materials between and throughout two adjacent manufacturing buildings (North and South). Primary task is to receive orders from production lines and deliver requested materials and uses forklift to unload incoming cargo containers and move materials around the facility. Also must assist in month-end counting, accuracy verification and in maintaining the accuracy of inventory records.Essential functions include supporting production lines, receiving orders, prioritizing tasks according to production needs, unloading incoming materials from cargo containers, moving unused PVC materials to extrusion for re-use, and safely operating the forklift.Job requirements include a high school graduate/GED, ability to read, write and speak simple English, knowledge of safety practices and procedures, and ability to lift and carry 75 pounds maximum for short distances. Must be able to work quickly with product and able to lift and carry 75 pounds maximum for short distances. Ability to frequently push/pull, bend at the waist and neck, kneel/squat, twist, reach above shoulders and below waist, use repetitive hand/arm movements, grasp, pinch, climb and work at heights when driving forklift and ascend/descend forklift in order to complete the essential functions of this job on a accurate and continual basis in a fast-paced production environment.Working conditions include a manufacturing environment: open plant, cement floors, stationary machinery, moving equipment, exposure to various chemicals, solvents, glass and vinyl dust (MSDS' available upon request). Equipment/tools used include forklift, carts, pallet jacks, paperwork, pens/pencils and radio. Required personal protective equipment inclusive of but not limited to: hearing protection, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, arm guards, gloves, and a safety vest.Safe work performance is required from each associate at all times. Perform all duties and responsibilities in a safe manner in accordance with applicable Health and Safety Manuals. Required to wear or use personal protective equipment as applicable and to immediately report unsafe working conditions.
