Work is performed under direct supervision.This internship provides hands-on experience analyzing business operations, evaluating service and warranty processes, and supporting process standardization efforts across the organization. The intern will collaborate with field operations, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for operational improvement and help develop scalable solutions that enhance customer experience and business performance.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist with various projects in support of the department.Gather, organize, and analyze data to support operational reviews, process improvement initiatives, and special projects.Conduct interviews and collaborate with field leaders, technicians, and business partners to understand current business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.Document and analyze current-state workflows, procedures, and system interactions.Assist with the development of process maps, workflow documentation, presentations, and project recommendations.Support data analysis and reporting activities using Excel, Power BI, and other business tools.Participate in team meetings, project reviews, and brainstorming sessions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and deliverables.Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to department leadership when appropriate.Minimum RequirementsMust be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree.Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.Preferred junior or senior standing; other class levels will be considered.Preferred majors include Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or related disciplines.Preferred QualificationsStrong Excel and Power BI skills, including data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development.Comfort interviewing and collaborating with field leaders and technicians to gather information and understand operational processes.Interest in Continuous Improvement and Lean principles with a passion for improving business performance.Ability to create process maps and workflow documentation using tools such as Visio, Miro, or similar software.Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate insights and recommendations.Curiosity about construction operations and a desire to learn how field execution impacts customer experience, service quality, and business outcomes.CompetenciesStrong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.Comfortable engaging with and interviewing field personnel, technicians, and operational leaders.Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and cross-functional stakeholders.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.Experience with Power BI or other reporting and visualization tools preferred.Knowledge of process mapping and workflow documentation methodologies.Interest in Continuous Improvement, Lean principles, and operational excellence.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn about construction operations and installed services.Learning OpportunitiesConstruction and Installed Services operationsWarranty and service management processesBusiness process mapping and standardizationContinuous Improvement and Lean methodologiesData analysis, reporting, and dashboard developmentCross-functional project managementExecutive communication and presentationsOperational performance measurement and KPI developmentThis role is ideal for a student interested in combining data analytics, process improvement, field operations, and business transformation to drive meaningful operational improvements.At BFS, we want you and your career to be greater than what you ever could have expected.
