Caregiver - Austin, TXCambridge Caregivers provides private-duty in-home care for seniors. Headquartered in Dallas with firm roots in the hill country, Cambridge is owned by Texas Longhorns and provides highly skilled, warm and attentive caregivers who care for our clients like family. We offer a range of care for our clients ranging from companionship services to care for those with highly complex needs. Our clients are located throughout Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and the surrounding areas.About the PositionThe Austin Cambridge Caregiver position is responsible for attentive, professional, and compassionate care for our valued clients. This position is responsible for creating an environment and experience for the client and their families that is comforting and caring. This role works to actively engage with the clients on a personal level to understand and respond to their needs. This role requires a high degree of attention to detail, the ability to manage and transfer knowledge to other caregivers on the engagement, excellent communication skills and flexibility in scheduling and tasks. Successful caregivers exemplify initiative, client service orientation, respect for others, strong interpersonal skills, and technical excellence. This role reports to the Regional Operations Director.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure the safety and well-being of all clients at all times. In emergency situations, follow Company procedures and client advance directives.Understand your own technical and physical ability to safely perform required duties as assigned.Utilize proper body mechanics and safety protocols in assigned duties.Review engagement Care Plan prior to arrival. Assist clients as required and as directed by the Care Plan.Always promote the maximum amount of independence from all clients. Encourage the client to do as much as possible for themselves.Perform light housekeeping, meal preparation and laundry as needed.Perform companionship duties and demonstrate supportive listening and responding.Remain fully awake and responsive to clients during shifts.Report unsafe shifts, and change in the condition of the clients’ emotional, physical, or psychological state, and workplace safety concerns to the Company immediately.Provide activity and engagement support to clients at appropriate level described in the Care Plan.Independently clock in and out of shift using our time and attendance app, WellSky.Follow uniform and appearance guidelines at all times.Follow Cambridge Caregivers Policies and Procedures.Preferred Skills and Experience:High school diploma or GED.Two or more years of relevant experience with the aged or informed.CNA preferred.Hoyer lift and advance transfer experience.Successful experience with Dementia clients.BLS/CPR preferred.Experience with WellSky or other similar clock in/clock out mobile apps.Ability to read, write and communicate effectively with elders.Ability to safely lift, bend, stoop, and reach as required for care described in a client Care Plan.Have reliable transportation to/from shifts.Ability to drive/transport clients in personal or client vehicles preferred.BenefitsCompetitive pay ratesFlexible scheduling optionsOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesSupportive work environment401(k) matchingEmployee assistance programHealth insurance, dental insurance, and vision insuranceLife insuranceMileage reimbursementPaid orientationPaid sick time and Paid time offReferral programBonus opportunitiesGas stipendCambridge Caregivers is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
