Senior Software Engineer

Senior Software EngineerGarmin International Inc. seeks Senior Software Engineer (Chandler, AZ; Multiple Positions). Essential Functions:Develops moderately complex software in C, C++ or other selected languages for new products and/or applications.Designs and/or reviews architected modules and software systems supporting new technology or improving capability/performance of existing functionality.Decomposes functional requirements into well-defined tasks.Researches fundamental problems and implements algorithm solutions that are appropriate.Balances quality, quantity and complexity in work output.Assists design engineering as needed with component datasheet review and schematic design review.May partner with electrical engineering or process manufacturer to turn on new processors.May work with software vendors to integrate externally developed deliverables into project.Evaluates new technologies as they apply to existing functions.Provides technical input to product development plans and concept documents.Makes substantial contributions toward determination of project goal/objective feasibility.Provides limited technical mentoring and guidance to less experienced Software Engineers (approximately 5-10% of the time) without formal supervisory responsibilities.This is an individual contributor role.Remote work is not available.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer or Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field plus a minimum of 5 years of progressive full-time software engineering work experience in computer graphics using C or C++. Must show demonstrated experience in the following:Experience in 2D/3D (OpenGL or Vulkan) graphics and rendering technologiesExperience in writing efficient GPU shader algorithms.Knowledge of GPU architectures and Graphics pipelineServing as a lead software engineer for a complex software projectOffering peer technical assessments and mentoring in areas of expertise, new technologies and software designsDesigning and programming in a multi-threading environmentIndustry experience working in a team setting developing software for product deliverables going to marketIndustry experience developing and debugging on embedded devices.Industry experience debugging and resolving computer graphics performance and graphical bugs.In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience, will accept a Master's degree in same plus 3 years of relevant work experience.Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
