IT Technician

Job Description

Department: Diversified Businesses (DIV)

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Grand Prairie

The Technology Systems Technician Position will work in all areas of the business as needed. Work will include, but is not limited to warehouse work, equipment preparation and programming, machine installation assistance, and class preparation. Take part in training, to expand knowledge of GPS products.

The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Essential Functions

Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.

Works in warehouse to include receiving stock, receipting into D365 F&O system, placing, and pulling stock from shelves, lifting products weighing up to 75lbs.

Prepares GPS products to include assembly, charging and programming firmware in the products using Trimble web site.

Works in field in all weather conditions to assist field technicians with installation, repair and troubleshooting of machine technology products. Field work will be dirty, greasy, and physically demanding work.

Assists trainer in the preparation for schools and associated field training activities. Work includes pulling, prepping, and set up of equipment for class, clean-up of gear and return of gear back to warehouse.

Participates in on-the-job learning of the D365 F&O computer system, Trimble website use and GPS product use and operation.

Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Strong computer skills and the ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel, CAD, AGTEC, in addition to various warehouse and accounting programs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and some college, or additional technical training, required; Associates Degree in Survey, Auto, or Diesel Mechanics preferred.

Trimble Certified Trainer preferred.

Valid Driver’s License required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Travel

Up to 30% travel may be required, to include overnight stays.

Physical Requirements

Significant amount of time standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and reaching.

Constant movement and use of hands, this position requires good manual dexterity.

Frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.

Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.

Be able to maneuver safely and work underneath equipment.

Occasionally lifts and moves materials and equipment up to 75 lbs.

Ascends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipment.

Work Environment

Regularly works outdoors around moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity.

Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment.

Works in an enclosed and open vehicle or equipment.

Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment.

Works in extremely bright or inadequate lighting.

Exposure to high noise levels and body vibration.

Works in confined workspaces, awkward positions, and high places.

Exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings.
