ReSource Waste Services LLC is looking for a Finance Manager for our Hauling Division.
The Finance Manager will oversee financial planning, reporting, and operational finance for C&D and MSW hauling and disposal business. This role partners closely with operations leadership to drive profitability, control costs, and support growth initiatives across hauling, landfill/tipping, transfer stations, and recycling operations.
The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience in asset-heavy and route-based businesses, and the ability to translate operational data (routes, tons, utilization, pricing) into actionable financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Own budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across hauling lines of business
Develop and maintain job-level and route-level profitability reporting
Track and explain key drivers including volume (tons), pricing, fuel, labor, and disposal costs
Ensure accurate revenue recognition, accruals, and cost allocation
Operational Finance & KPI Management
Partner with operations to monitor and improve:
Route profitability and density
Cost per stop, cost per ton, and margin by customer
Truck, container, and equipment utilization
Fuel, maintenance, and labor efficiency
Build dashboards and KPIs for daily and weekly operational review.
Support pricing analysis, customer profitability, and contract renewals.
Accounting Oversight & Controls
Oversee AR and billing and related general ledger in coordination with accounting team
Ensure timely and accurate customer billing, including fuel surcharges, overage charges, and other fees
Maintain internal controls and support audits or lender reporting
Ensure compliance with local, state, and environmental reporting requirements
Capital & Asset Management
Track fleet, container, and heavy equipment capital expenditures
Analyze ROI on truck, container, and facility investments
Support fleet replacement planning and maintenance reserve modeling
Growth, M&A & Strategic Support (if applicable)
Support acquisitions, tuck-ins, and greenfield expansions
Assist with due diligence, synergy modeling, and integration planning
Prepare board and investor reporting for ownership or private equity partners
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
5–8+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience
Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills
Experience in waste hauling businesses or other asset-heavy, logistics, construction, or industrial services
Familiarity with route-based billing, job costing, and fuel surcharge mechanisms
Advanced Excel skills;
Experience with Trux or other hauling operations systems
Preferred
CPA, CMA, or MBA a plus
