Trissential is hiring a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join our client's Operational Technology (OT) team supporting energy, SCADA, transmission, distribution, and nuclear operations. This is an opportunity to work on highly visible infrastructure supporting critical systems while collaborating with a team of experienced DBAs across multiple database platforms.What's in It for You?Work on critical infrastructure projects that directly support energy and operational technology environmentsGain exposure to Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB platformsJoin a collaborative team that values transparency, communication, and technical excellenceContribute to modernization initiatives, upgrades, automation projects, and enterprise-scale database environmentsEnjoy a hybrid work schedule with a supportive team cultureOpportunity for contract extension and long-term career growth due to ongoing capital projectsYour Role & ResponsibilitiesAdminister and support Oracle and SQL Server database environments across development, test, and production systemsPerform database backup, recovery, performance tuning, patching, and business continuity activitiesManage Oracle environments including ASM, RAC, Data Guard, and version upgradesSupport SQL Server environments including clustering, AlwaysOn, replication, mirroring, and log shippingCreate, maintain, and optimize physical database designs and database buildsParticipate in a rotating on-call schedule to support business-critical systemsMonitor proactive and reactive database alerts and resolve incidents through ServiceNowDevelop automation solutions using PowerShell, KornShell, Shell scripting, T-SQL, and PL/SQLCollaborate with application support teams, architects, developers, and infrastructure teamsConduct database capacity planning, audits, integrity checks, and health assessmentsSupport ongoing strategic initiatives and major database upgrade projectsMaintain security, compliance, governance, and operational standards throughout the environmentSkills & Experience You Should Possess5-7+ years of hands-on Database Administration experienceStrong expertise with Oracle Database Administration including Oracle 12c, 19c, and 21cStrong expertise with SQL Server Administration including SQL Server 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022Experience performing database backup and recovery operationsProven performance tuning and troubleshooting experienceStrong understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity processesExperience supporting PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB databasesHands-on experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing platformsStrong scripting skills using PowerShell, KornShell, Shell Scripting, T-SQL, and PL/SQLAbility to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersProven ability to work collaboratively and proactively within a team environmentBonus Points If You HaveExperience supporting utility, energy, SCADA, operational technology, or nuclear environmentsExperience with Oracle ASM, RAC, and Data Guard technologiesExperience with SQL Server SSIS package development and reporting servicesExperience performing large-scale Oracle and SQL Server version upgradesExperience with Windows clustering and SQL Server AlwaysOn technologiesKnowledge of data governance, data architecture, data visualization, or analytics initiativesExposure to machine learning, predictive modeling, or reporting solutionsEducation & Certifications You NeedBachelor's degree in Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field OREquivalent combination of education and 8+ years of related professional experiencePreferred CertificationsOracle Certified Professional (OCP)Microsoft SQL Server CertificationsOther database administration certificationsWhat We OfferAt Trissential, we value expertise, innovation, and collaboration.
