Mechanical Engineer

SUMMARY

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer/Drafter who would be responsible for creating technical drawings and layouts for sheet metal products and systems, using AutoCAD. This role involves interpreting blueprints, detailing fabrication and assembly processes, and ensuring drawings meet industry standards and project specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Using CAD software to create detailed drawings for sheet metal products, including ductwork, housing, and other components.

Understanding and applying information from blueprints to accurately create drawings.

Providing clear instructions for cutting, bending, welding, and assembling sheet metal parts.

Maintaining accuracy in drawings, dimensions, and specifications.

Working with design engineers and other stakeholders to ensure drawings meet project requirements.

Applying industry and company standards in the preparation and review of drawings.

Assisting with project issues related to drawings.

Keeping abreast of new technologies and industry standards in sheet metal drafting.

REQUIREMENTS

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.

Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and materials.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Ability to identify and resolve issues related to drawings and fabrication.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders.

Prior experience in sheet metal drafting.

High school diploma or equivalent is typically required, while an associate's or bachelor's degree in drafting technology or a related field may be preferred.
