Clearance Level & Investigation : Secret minimum; TS/SCI and SAP access as required by assigned systems/workspaces; CAC/NACI required.

Job Description

Manages and identifies program high-level technical specifications, which may include application design, cloud computing strategy and adoption, and integration of software applications into a functioning system to meet requirements.

Leads system management and cloud/virtual infrastructure support for ESXi hosts, VMs/appliances, Red Hat OpenShift, VDI, server infrastructure, file systems, backups, system updates, high availability, and secure 24/7 operations.

Provide systems administration and maintenance on multiple separate networks consisting of ESXi Hosts, VMs/appliances, RedHat Open Shift and VDI desktops; provide hardware troubleshooting, maintenance, system backups, system updates, and support for Information Systems users, both wired and wireless, with Personal Computers (PCs) and Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs); provide user required documentation and provide assistance to users (both hardware and software) on any standard or locally developed programs/systems; provide advice and assistance to higher headquarters in implementing new systems and/or updates to standard systems being installed; provide hardware/software administration for server and network infrastructure; provide system administration support to maintain highly secure and available systems (24/7 basis) by adhering to standards, regulations, and implementing industry practices.

Perform systems administration and maintenance; support for system-level applications, file systems, and restricted shell access menus; hardware installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, backups, updates, and system support; user orientation and training on systems; development of test data for software validation; documentation updates and user assistance; collaboration with higher headquarters for system updates and installations; system analysis and design; establish and sustain virtual infrastructure; provide data and information to assist with maintaining system administration SOPs and documentation.

Deliver innovative, state-of-the-art solutions to address inquiries and support needs from Customers; provide timely, effective, and customer-focused responses to user inquiries, ensuring resolution of related issues, including diagnosing and troubleshooting computer hardware and software problems; oversee personnel embedded within OCIO to ensure seamless integration, collaboration, and continuity of support services.

Provide expert technical guidance on installation, operation, and troubleshooting of computer hardware and software.

Oversee delivery of comprehensive technical assistance & system support & detailed reports; assist Customer in managing system support & improving customer support.

Support testing & implementation of data backup & recovery plan; ensure solutions fully compatible with Linux NFS and Windows SMB protocols and integrate seamlessly with existing Enterprise SAN infrastructure; support scalable architecture capable of accommodating enterprise growth and evolving requirements, while supporting Cohesity, Dell PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM), VMware Replication, and vSAN hyper-converged infrastructure; leverage policy-driven backup and recovery orchestration to automate and manage protection tasks across virtual and physical workloads; implement and maintain all necessary services and protocols, including vProxy, DD Boost, NDMP, REST APIs, S3-compatible object storage, and integration with VMware vCenter and vSphere environments; include application-aware backup agents for platforms such as SQL Server to ensure data consistency and rapid recovery; ensure full interoperability with purpose-built backup storage appliances through use of supported interfaces and standard network-based file protocols; utilize a scalable architecture and integrated feature set to consolidate backup, recovery, replication, and long-term retention services across environments.

Regularly validate and optimize system performance, ensuring that all backup and recovery operations meet defined Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) and acceptable Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs), in accordance with applicable Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Perform activities, make recommendations, and provide advice used for development of plans, processes and procedures to ensure a resilient infrastructure which minimizes impacts of events with potential to disrupt mission-essential functions by identifying and mitigating threats, vulnerabilities, and risks; conduct risk management, contingency, and continuity planning activities and implement them in a comprehensive manner across all Enterprises; provide Business Impact Analysis (BIA) recommendations to determine overall system security impact level based upon the security objectives, which include confidentiality, integrity, and availability; recommend contingency strategies based on impact levels of the security levels.

Provide high impact components with high-availability and redundancy options in system design, such as load-balancing, data mirroring, and data replication.

Develop, manage and maintain contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted execution of essential missions and functions; review, evaluate expected effectiveness, and make recommendations to improve current Contingency Plans for hardware/software platforms and mission applications utilizing BBPs and complying with new and current Army Regulations.
