The role involves software development, enhancement, debugging, and maintenance of Human Machine Interface (HMI) software associated with the Multifunction Control and Display Unit (MCDU). Candidates should possess strong Embedded C++ programming skills and a good understanding of avionics software development environments.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze, modify, and enhance existing Embedded C++ software to implement Change Requests (CRs).Develop and maintain HMI functionality related to Multifunction Control and Display Unit (MCDU) applications.Understand software architecture, design constructs, and avionics system requirements.Perform software debugging, root cause analysis, defect fixing, and verification activities.Collaborate with system engineers, architects, verification teams, and customer stakeholders.Support software integration, testing, and troubleshooting activities.Participate in code reviews and ensure compliance with aerospace software development standards and processes.Required QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Avionics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.3 to 8 years of experience in Embedded Software Development.Strong programming experience in C++ within embedded systems environments.Ability to understand existing software architecture, code constructs, and implement enhancements based on Change Requests.Experience with software debugging and troubleshooting techniques.Good understanding of object-oriented design principles and software development lifecycle.Preferred QualificationsExperience in Flight Management Systems (FMS) or other avionics applications.Exposure to avionics display systems, MCDU/CDU, cockpit systems, or flight deck software.Experience in flight software development and debugging environments.Knowledge of aerospace software standards such as DO-178B/C.Familiarity with software integration, unit testing, and verification activities.Exposure to tools such as VectorCAST, LDRA, RTRT, Git, ClearCase, or similar development environments.Work ArrangementWillingness to travel to the Deer Valley (Phoenix) site as needed, typically 1-2 days per week.Travel frequency is flexible and can be mutually agreed upon based on project requirements.Engagement DetailsInitial engagement period of one year.Strong possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.
