Job Summary
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving, stockkeeping, picking, packing, and shipping activities. The role is also responsible for counter sales, housekeeping, and related quality assurance activities.
Job Description
Handle all incoming shipments
Verify purchased products and enter order receipts into the computer system
Perform quality assurance inspections, as appropriate
Place received materials into the appropriate warehouse storage locations after segregating backorders. When necessary, relocate and consolidate materials and notify management of new bin/table locations
Pull, pack, weigh, and label materials for shipment, including assemble-and-hold orders
Prepare bills of lading and express receipts
Assist with loading trucks
Prepare local delivery records and complete the applicable sections of pick tickets
Maintain appropriate forms for pending material returns
Inspect the condition of returned materials before completing return authorization forms
Pull stock and return it to the correct location pending a credit memo, sale, or return to the supplier
Maintain cleanliness in the warehouse and trucking/parking areas
Assemble and disassemble bins, racks, shelves, and tables as needed
Administer preventive maintenance programs for delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment to ensure proper functioning and safe warehouse operations
Record verbal and written customer complaints regarding dissatisfaction with products or services. Process complaints by responding to customers with the corrective actions taken or directing the concerns to the appropriate department supervisor or manager, as necessary
Maintain counter stock as needed
May assist with over-the-counter sales
Working Environment:
Warehouse – Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment
The noise level is moderately quiet
The area is generally well-ventilated and well-lit
Employees may be exposed to all kinds of weather and may be required to wear protective clothing
Employees operate heavy equipment
Strict safety regulations may be required
Physical Requirements:
Work is physically strenuous, and employees are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds
Employees are required to use hand tools
Skills Required
Basic computer skills
Pallet building, pallet wrapping, and carton replenishment for the packing department
Education/Training/Certifications
High school diploma or GED
Additional Requirements
Must be able to pass a drug screen & criminal background check
Work Hours: Mon to Fri, 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Steel-toed boots required
Pay Rate/Salary
$18.00/hr. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location
