Sr. Database Engineer

Senior Database Engineer The Advisory Reporting Team is looking for a highly motivated Senior Database Engineer with solid grasp of programming fundamentals, software design, and practices to support transformational work with our team.

The ideal candidate will be developing the environment and reporting solutions in Snowflake and PowerBI. Expert SQL skills, problem analysis skills, and strong communication skills needed for the role.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring:

Experience on Cloud, Big Data Concepts, and tools – AWS, Data Lake, Snowflake

Proven track record in multiple IT areas that include Database development, Data Warehousing, mid-tier development & Cloud services

Proven experience working with BI solutions, namely PowerBI or similar data visualization and reporting applications

Proven data modeling and solution design experience

Ability to read and interpret physical data models

Awareness of CI/CD approaches

Degree in a technology related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science) required

Sophisticated working knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL knowledge and relational databases and data warehouses

Curiosity and passion about data, visualization and solving problems.

Experienced with data normalization and denormalization techniques

Experience in query performance tuning for reporting solutions

Experienced with AWS cloud services

Good communication skills including written, verbal, and technology illustrations

Capacity to quickly understand and incorporate new technologies

Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Kanban and Scrum), framework and the value it brings

Superlative experience using MSFT excel

Experience with Financial Services data a plus

The Senior Database Engineer on the Advisory Reporting Team is responsible for design and development of highly available data solutions that support Managed solutions applications that service our customers as well as our representatives. The engineer will also be a technical lead for the team and has responsibility for solution design, solving key technical challenges and mentoring the team. In addition, the Principal Data Engineer may assist in creating new standing and ad hoc reports for the business.
