Engineering Manager

M Force Partners is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead engineering operations, personnel, product development, and technical projects within a manufacturing environment. This position will be responsible for structuring and operating the engineering department as a cohesive unit while ensuring projects are completed according to customer requirements, quality standards, budgets, and timelines.

The Engineering Manager will oversee simultaneous engineering projects, manage CNC programming engineers, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure engineering data including BOMs, manufacturing drawings, and engineering change orders are accurately maintained within the ERP system.

The ideal Engineering Manager combines strong technical and manufacturing knowledge with hands-on leadership, project management, team development, and the ability to deliver manufacturable solutions that meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects, personnel, procedures, and work instructions
• Establish long-term engineering objectives, performance standards, and departmental priorities
• Ensure engineering projects are completed within established budgets, schedules, and customer requirements
• Manage and provide technical direction to CNC programming engineers and their assigned projects
• Oversee product development activities from customer and sales requirements through manufacturable design
• Ensure BOMs, manufacturing drawings, engineering change orders (ECOs), and other engineering data are accurately created and maintained within the ERP system
• Implement job review and continuous improvement processes to improve machining procedures and manufacturing performance
• Support continuous improvement projects and 5S initiatives throughout engineering and manufacturing operations
• Maintain engineering processes and documentation in accordance with Quality Management System requirements
• Provide hands-on technical guidance, project management, mentorship, and support to engineering personnel
• Assess engineering team capabilities, performance, development needs, and resource requirements
• Hire and direct engineering resources necessary to meet project commitments
• Manage multiple engineering and product development projects of varying complexity
• Monitor current industry and manufacturing technology trends to support continued technical advancement
• Apply practical knowledge of good machining practices to engineering and manufacturing activities
• Maintain accurate engineering and project records within the ERP system
• Collaborate with management, sales, manufacturing, and other teams to support customer and business requirements
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety policies, procedures, and objectives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with 5+ years of industry engineering experience, including at least 3 years in an engineering management position, OR 10+ years of industry engineering experience with at least 5 years in an engineering management position in lieu of a BSME
• Engineering experience within a manufacturing or machining environment
• Demonstrated engineering team leadership and team-building experience
• Experience managing multiple technical projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of CNC machining and good machining practices
• Experience with engineering documentation including BOMs, manufacturing drawings, and engineering change orders
• Experience working with ERP systems
• Working knowledge of CAD software
• Strong project management, problem-solving, change management, and relationship management skills
• Ability to provide hands-on technical direction and mentorship to engineering personnel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience directly managing CNC programming engineers
• Experience with continuous improvement and machining process improvement initiatives
• Experience working within a documented Quality Management System
• Experience supporting 5S and other manufacturing improvement programs
• Product development experience within a precision machining or related manufacturing environment
