Job Description

Key Responsibilities

MongoDB Administration: Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MongoDB databases across Dev/Test/Prod environments.

Monitor MongoDB performance, replication, and availability.

Perform regular backups and restore operations (logical and physical) and validate recovery procedures.

Implement security best practices including authentication, authorization, and role‑based access.

Troubleshoot MongoDB issues related to performance, connectivity, replication, and storage.

Collaborate with application teams to optimize schema design and queries.

MySQL Administration: Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases.

Execute database backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures (including backups in MySQL and Viva Learning).

Monitor MySQL performance, capacity, and availability.

Perform database tuning, indexing, and query optimization.

Manage users, privileges, and data security.

Handle upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance tasks.

Backup, restore, and DR management.

Design and maintain backup strategies for MongoDB and MySQL.

Conduct regular restore testing to ensure data recoverability.

Maintain documentation for backup, restore, and DR processes.

Support audits and compliance requirements related to data protection.

Monitoring support: Monitor database health and proactively address issues.

Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and preventive actions.

Provide on‑call or production support as required.

Maintain operational documentation and SOPs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

5 years of experience in MongoDB and/or MySQL database administration.

Strong knowledge of backup, restore, and recovery strategies.

Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.

Hands‑on experience with monitoring and troubleshooting production databases.

Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.

Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Python, or similar) is a plus.

Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with cloud‑managed databases (e.g., MongoDB Atlas, AWS RDS).

Exposure to high‑availability replication and disaster recovery setups.

Knowledge of compliance and security best practices.

Role Type

Suitable for DBA, APSE, CTI, Platform Support aligned roles.
