Full Stack Developer - Cloud Integration & Modernization Full-Time • Chicago Area (Hybrid) • $140,000-$160,000 We're looking for a senior full stack engineer who uses AI-assisted development tools as a core part of their daily workflow - not an occasional shortcut. You'll own end-to-end delivery across a high-priority integration and platform modernization program with real milestones and a live vendor go-live deadline. This is a hands-on execution role, not R&D. You'll work directly with the CTO and be on the critical delivery path from day one. What you'll do Own full stack delivery across frontend React/TypeScript applications and backend Node.js and Python services - from planning through deployment Take features end-to-end: frontend experience, APIs, data-layer design, testing, observability, and release readiness Use agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Devin, Copilot, or similar) as a first-class part of your workflow for planning, scaffolding, test generation, migration scripting, and code review Maintain full accountability for correctness, security, architecture, and production readiness of all delivered work - regardless of how it's generated Support AWS platform migration including retiring a ~150-VM legacy footprint Help migrate Elasticsearch workloads to RDS and Redshift, and convert Kinesis pipelines to MWAA-based orchestration Report weekly on delivery progress and AI-tool spend vs. output throughput Document ownership, dependencies, and decisions clearly across workstreams Collaborate regularly in person with teammates and stakeholders in the Chicago area What we're looking for 5+ years of full stack engineering experience with end-to-end feature ownership Strong React and TypeScript for frontend development Strong backend experience with Node.js and/or Python Deep AWS knowledge - EC2, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, MWAA, and IAM Daily, substantial experience with agentic or AI-assisted coding tools and the ability to articulate how that investment translates to delivery throughput Proven track record on large-scale cloud integrations with verifiable references Experience with complex modernization, migration, or integration initiatives in production environments Clear communicator - comfortable documenting risk, ownership, and dependencies for both technical and non-technical audiences Nice to have Legacy system migration experience - VM consolidation, Elasticsearch migrations, ETL modernization, or workflow-orchestration conversions Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or custom AI-agent tooling Experience on cross-functional teams with time-sensitive delivery plans Chicago-area residency or ability to collaborate in person regularly
