Software Developer

Leidos is seeking a Software Developer with strong problem solving and analytical skills who is detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and reliability. We are looking for a developer with hands on experience in ETL/ELT development, data integration, and pipeline orchestration. The selected will have proven experience designing, building, and maintainingscalable data pipelines, a strong understanding ofdata transformation, cleansing, validation, and migrationprocesses and experience working withlarge, complex datasetsacross multiple source systems.The customer applies technical resources to accelerate the timely, reliable, and secure delivery of open source data, information, and insights. They require support to maintain and enhance an existing big data exploitation platform. The Software Developer will work within an agile team environment. Work will include creating Amazon Web Services (AWS)-based resources; writing, testing, and debugging custom application code; administering database services; and performing data cleaning, formatting, and other forms of data management. The selected developer’s responsibilities include:Designing, developing, and optimizing ETL pipelines and data workflowsIntegrating data from multiple internal and external systemsEnsuring data quality, reliability, and consistency across pipelinesTroubleshooting and resolve performance and data integrity issuesCollaborating with engineering, analytics, and business teams to support data needsDocumenting pipeline architecture, processes, and operational proceduresThe ideal candidate will meet all of the listed skills/experiences but that as this person will work within a team, the client has the ability to approve candidates who meet most of the listed skills/experiences:Early/mid-level (5+ ish years usual benchmark) hands-on experiencein ETL/ELT development, data integration, and pipeline orchestrationProven experience designing, building, and maintainingscalable data pipelinesStrong understanding ofdata transformation, cleansing, validation, and migrationprocessesExperience working withlarge, complex datasetsacross multiple source systemsAs well as the Basic Qualifications:Must have an active TS/SCI with Poly to be consideredMust have a Bachelor's and at least 12 years of relatable work experience OR a Masters and at least 10 years of relatable work experience OR 16+ years of relatable work experience in lieu of degree.Strong expertise in ETL tools, frameworks, and best practicesProficiency inTypeScript,Node.js, andPythonfor backend and data pipeline developmentExperience developing and maintainingAPI integrations, batch jobs, and automated workflowsStrong knowledge ofSQLand relational databasesFamiliarity withdata modeling, schema design, and performance optimizationExperience withcloud-basedor on-prem data environmentsPreferred Qualifications:Experience withElasticsearch, including indexing, querying, and optimizing search/dataExperience withApache NiFifor data flow automation and orchestrationFamiliarity withstreaming and event-driven architecturesExperience withNoSQL databases, message queues, or distributed systemsExposure todata warehousingand analytics platformsIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
