Salary Range: $45,502 - $73,219 Commensurate with experience and location.

The Program Coordinator (PC) role serves as a foundational team member responsible to provide broad support to project teams, as assigned, across the division. The PC ensures the timely execution and daily management of project activities while balancing competing priorities. By actively supporting applied research, program evaluation, and systems strengthening efforts, this role builds essential project coordination skills and supports cross-functional teamwork, while driving impactful, mission-driven outcomes. The PC supports Business Development as requested. This full-time position reports to a Senior Associate position and can be based in the U.S. where JSI is registered.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement daily project activities focused on workforce development, evaluation, digital solutions, and/or policy including handling logistics of project events (interviews, meetings, trainings, workshops, webinars); monitoring and summarizing relevant public health and health policy news to alert internal teams to key issues; conducting background research through web and literature searches; summarizing and synthesizing project activities through notetaking, activity progress reports, and project tracking; and cyclical review and updates to internal- and external-facing project materials (e.g., tools, resources, documents, websites).
  • Contribute to policy, evaluation, technical assistance and training deliverables, including: conducting background research; coordinating and implementing qualitative activities (e.g., focus groups, key informant interviews); synthesizing findings, including performing coding, analysis, and writing; drafting outlines, products and reports (e.g., creating slide decks, fact sheets, e-learning materials, evaluation reports, policy analyses); and materials design and editing, including review for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (Section 508).
  • Interface with clients and partners around external-facing project activities, including: connecting with individual grantees in the areas of data management and utilization; coordinating with partners around shared project or business development deliverables; presenting work products to internal and external partners; and managing technical details including planning and real-time troubleshooting to support in-person and virtual events ranging from small capacity building consultations to large-scale national meetings.
  • Support finance and operations activities, such as invoice and purchase request processing in JSI systems, as requested.
  • Contribute to business development for new projects including: searching for and disseminating information about new business development opportunities through a Salesforce database; coordinating internal proposal development efforts; and completing delegated tasks such as developing proposal sections related to personnel and organizational capacity, and contributing research to technical proposals, as assigned.
  • Represent JSI with external audiences, including: networking with external partners and clients and promoting JSI programs and thought leadership through social media, blog posts.
  • Participate actively in internal community-building activities.
  • Participate actively in internal learning opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year of relevant work experience in public health or publicly funded health care is preferred.
  • Interest in U.S. public health and health policy, including women, children, and family health, and commitment to JSI's mission.
  • Ability to conduct and synthesize online research from multiple sources.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and maintain meticulous attention to detail, working independently.
  • Strong administrative and communication skills with ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology platforms (Zoom, Slack, Air Table, etc.)
  • Proficiency in MS Suite and Google Suite applications. Ability to utilize AI tools thoughtfully, ensuring efficiency, integrity, and excellence while adhering to ethical standards and maintaining data privacy.
  • Data visualization and/or graphic design skills, proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), and/or proficiency with website content management (Drupal) or email marketing platforms (MailChimp) are preferred.

Language Fluent oral and written English communication skills. Proficiency in languages other than English is preferred. Travel expectation Willingness and ability to travel domestically, as necessary (up to 10%). Work environment Mostly operate a computer in a remote/virtual first environment. Ability to maintain a comfortable and ergonomic posture while working. Work authorization/visa requirements/sponsorship Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
