We are looking for a Software Engineer 3 to join a dynamic team in Annapolis Junction, MD. We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer level 3 to support the development of advanced data processing and analysis solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong scripting and software development skills, with experience working across diverse data formats and system-level technologies.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using Object-Oriented Perl and other scripting languages

Develop and optimize Bash scripts and command-line pipelines to support data processing workflows

Utilize Docker to build, modify, and manage containerized applications and environments

Analyze, parse, and manipulate a variety of file system structures and formats, including executables, registry hives, SQLite databases, LevelDB, Apple plists, and XML

Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable and efficient solutions

Support system integration, testing, and troubleshooting across development environments

Contribute to front-end components as needed using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Ensure code quality through testing, documentation, and adherence to best practices

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and 20+ years of relevant experience, or 25+ years of experience in lieu of a degree

Strong experience with Object-Oriented Perl

Proficiency in Bash scripting and Linux command-line environments

Experience with Docker and containerized development

Solid understanding of file systems and low-level data structures

Experience analyzing and parsing complex data/file formats

Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries

Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript

US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required
