Level: Entry | Location: Merit Valparaiso ALDVAL, Valparaiso, IN 46383 | Position: Full Time | Salary: $19.00 per hour | Category: Warehouse

Overview

Unloading freight from various trucking companies with or without manual or powered equipment at assigned location at the direction of the Supervisor and Site Manager.

Responsibilities

• Unload and break down freight efficiently
• Operate forklift or electric pallet jack as trained
• Maintain a safe and organized work area
• Meet fast‑paced productivity goals and standards

Physical Demands

Regularly lift and move up to 75 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Requires use of hands and arms, good vision, and the ability to talk or hear. • Detail oriented – pay attention to the minute details of a project or task

Education, Training and Experience

Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work. Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions. Prior experience operating a forklift or pallet jack a plus; not required. Will train and certify associates holding positions requiring the use of such equipment.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and move 50–75 lbs continuously
• Pass pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check
• Work in a physically demanding warehouse environment
• Meet fast‑paced productivity goals and standards
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Work overtime, including weekends and holidays, without advanced notice
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Forklift and electric pallet jack experience preferred
• Warehouse experience a plus
