Python DeveloperThis is a full-time opportunity in Houston, TX with our top energy trading client.Position Core Responsibilities:Writing modular, reusable components to liaise between external sources of data, internal tools and databasesMaintaining the cleanliness and centrality of the Python codebasePorting of legacy code into Python where appropriateAble to translate business requirements into a technical delivery following existing patterns where possibleQualifications and Experience:3+ years of enterprise-level coding experience in PythonExperience scraping websites with Beautiful Soup, Selenium, etc.Oracle / PL SQL development experience including stored proceduresStrong understanding of object oriented design, design patterns, SOA architecturesPast experience working in an Agile/Scrum environmentProficient understanding of peer-reviewing, code versioning, and bug/issue tracking tools.Development experience implementing solutions utilizing cloud technologies like AWS is preferredCommodities/Energy Industry experience desiredFamiliarity with containerization solutions like Docker and Kubernetes is a plusPersonal Characteristics:Team playerSelf-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing prioritiesAble to work in a high pressure on-call environment with changing prioritiesProactive and customer focused “make it work” mentalityHighly responsive, energetic and enthusiasticResourceful and able to think creatively and adapt
