Mechanical Estimator - Phoenix, AZ

A leading mechanical contractor in the Phoenix market is looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join its growing team.

The ideal candidate will have experience estimating commercial mechanical construction projects, with a background in HVAC, piping, plumbing, or a combination of mechanical scopes .

Responsibilities Prepare estimates for commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects.

Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and scopes of work.

Perform detailed material and equipment takeoffs.

Develop labor and material pricing.

Solicit and review pricing from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Analyze quotes for scope, exclusions, and accuracy.

Identify scope gaps, risks, and potential cost savings.

Prepare competitive bids and proposals.

Assist with value engineering and constructability reviews.

Participate in estimate reviews and bid strategy meetings.

Maintain accurate estimating documentation and historical cost information.

Work closely with Project Management, Operations, Purchasing, and Leadership.

Assist with the transition of awarded projects from estimating to operations.

Manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.

Qualifications 3+ years of mechanical estimating experience preferred.

Commercial mechanical construction experience.

Strong understanding of HVAC, piping, and/or plumbing systems.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.

Experience performing detailed takeoffs and developing labor/material pricing.

Strong understanding of mechanical construction methods and installation.

Experience with estimating software and digital takeoff tools.

Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organization.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a project team.

Preferred Experience Mechanical piping estimating

Commercial or industrial construction

Design-build experience

Large-scale mechanical projects

Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel

FastPIPE, FastDUCT, Accubid, Trimble, or similar estimating software

Compensation $90,000–$160,000 base salary , depending on experience and qualifications, plus performance-based incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
