DevOps Engineer

Job Description:

Looking for a Technical Operations/Release Engineer to manage, maintain and expand our Amazon Web Service (AWS) based systems and the supporting processes, procedures and tools. This person will be a key contributor to both the stability and expansion of internally and externally facing products and services.

Typical Day:

Triage issues

Work alongside software engineers to build and maintain developer operation processes and procedures

Oversee code deployment pipelines

Oversee our AWS infrastructure using Terraform and other infrastructure-as-code tools

Assist in manual quality assurance activities

Assist in the creation of automated testing processes

As a member of the engineering team, contribute to planning and execution efforts across our applications as needed

Having your code reviewed and participate in code reviews, standups, retros, other SCRUM activities

Required Skills:

A Bachelors in CS or equivalent experience

At least 2 years professional development experience using Amazon Web Services

At least 2 years professional experience managing Windows and Linux based servers

At least 2 years professional experience using Python, BASH or similar scripting language

Strong familiarity with multi-tier web applications

Bright, motivated, passionate engineers who want to work with the same and are open-minded about applying the best tool for the job and solving real problems for real users

Bonus but not Required:

Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, i.e. Terraform, Ansible, Packer, etc.

Experience with code deployment tools, i.e. Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.

Experience managing Postgres or MySQL databases

Experience within a HIPAA bound organization
