Forklift OperatorThe Forklift Operator supports the inventory department by handling all basic materials-related functions, including receiving, stocking, issuing, packing, and shipping activities. This role ensures that materials and finished products are accurately processed, protected, and delivered on time, while maintaining a safe and well-organized warehouse and production environment.ResponsibilitiesReceive incoming materials from external and internal suppliers and verify accuracy against documentation.Identify and stock materials using the correct part numbers and established procedures to ensure proper inventory control.Issue materials to production work centers and complete all required paperwork accurately and promptly.Process basic inventory transactions using a computer and the ERP system to maintain up-to-date records.Perform cycle counts for assigned areas of responsibility to support inventory accuracy.Expedite parts as needed to prevent production delays and ensure continuous workflow.Perform routine forklift maintenance and upkeep to keep equipment in safe working condition.Maintain clean, organized aisles and good housekeeping practices within the warehouse and along production lines.Properly identify products assigned for packing, including specialized items, following established standards.Perform all packing procedures with a strong focus on part protection and meeting or exceeding customer expectations, including barrier bagging parts when required.Ensure parts arrive at customers undamaged by understanding part characteristics, shipment methods, and shipping instructions.Manage paperwork for assigned tasks, including verifying part orders against pick tickets and confirming shipments within the ERP system.Work under specific deadlines, including tight timelines for overnight shipments.Use freight company computer systems to process orders and print manifest reports.Complete carrier bills of lading (BOL) and all other required shipping documents accurately.Essential SkillsPrevious forklift operating experience and ability to successfully pass an internal forklift certification test.Basic knowledge of inventory control methods, including cycle counting, FIFO (First-In, First-Out), and location audits.Two (2) to three (3) years of inventory control experience.Prior shipping or packing experience and familiarity with standard packing procedures.Ability to use ERP systems for inventory transactions and shipment confirmations.Ability to use freight company computer systems to process orders and generate manifest reports.Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing a high level of service to internal and external customers.Ability to prioritize assignments throughout the day and manage several issues or tasks simultaneously.Self-motivated work style with a focus on doing one's best each day.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience performing cycle counts and inventory audits in a warehouse or production environment.Knowledge of bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation requirements.Comfort working with computers for data entry and basic inventory transactions.Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly aisles, storage locations, and work areas.Effective communication skills to coordinate with production, shipping, and other departments.Ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines, including overnight shipment cutoffs.Understanding of part protection methods, including barrier bagging and secure packaging for transit.Why Work Here?Employees benefit from frequent performance-based bonuses, opportunities to advance through structured levels, and immediate pay increases upon conversion. The noise level is typically loud, and safety awareness is essential at all times. Work involves regular use of forklifts, warehouse equipment, computers, ERP systems, and freight company terminals, with a strong focus on safe material handling and adherence to established procedures.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Oxnard, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
