Job Description

BCCI is growing, and we’re looking for a Project Executive who wants to help shape the teams and projects behind that growth. You’ll lead project teams, support the development of the people on them, and build trusted relationships with clients and trade partners.

This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact: guiding projects from strategy through delivery, helping teams work through challenges, and ensuring each project meets our standards for quality, financial performance, and client service. You’ll work closely with executive leadership and have a voice in how we grow, while helping create an environment where your team can do its best work.

Representative Tasks and Responsibilities

Develop and manage relationships with potential and current clients

Play a leading role in securing new business and negotiating contracts

Supervise projects and ensure they are delivered on-time and on-budget with high levels of quality, safety and profitability

Manage and oversee project team(s), which includes employees from Project Management, Preconstruction and Field Operations.

Curate culture on the project team that aligns with overall organizational culture

Manage staffing needs by sharing/trading with other PEx’s.Participate with other PEx’s in recommendations to Division Leaders on long term staffing needs.

Manage workload within team to produce the targeted gross margin for projects.

Guide team members to meet or exceed corporate financial goals specific to project delivery.

Collaborate with other PEx’s, Department Heads, and Division Leaders to address project/client concerns and issues.

Ensure implementation of performance improvement procedures

Serve as a client relationship manager for specified clients.

Maintain positive subcontractor relationships and identify new qualified subcontractor alliances for equitable work distribution. Communicate feedback of subcontractor with other PEx’s.

Manage and ensure quality communication and collaboration amongst your team.

Facilitate issue resolution. Seek additional help from Division Leaders, Department Heads, or Human Resources as necessary.

Manage staff to ensure that the procedures and protocol are followed and that project closeouts are completed in a timely and accurate manner, within four weeks after project completion.

Communicate updates on projects to Division Leaders

Assist Department Heads to monitor and support staff in performance improvement through training, development and coaching based on their individual development plans.

Managing for Results: Sets challenging and productive goals for team, keeps team accountable for actions, provides leadership and motivation, provides resources and support, uses checkpoints and data to track progress, sets up systems and processes to measure results.

People Development: Provides feedback and coaching, rewards hard work and risk taking, takes mentoring role, challenges and develops employees, accepts mistakes, provides visibility/opportunity, all consistent with BCCI corporate culture and values.

People Management: Defines roles and responsibilities, motivates and challenges employees, delegates effectively, rewards contributions, manages collaboratively.

Participate in the marketing process, including presentations, RFP responses and attending industry events.

Qualifications

Education

College degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, and/or other related fields or equivalent work experience.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of construction, design, finance, management, estimating cost controls, scheduling and contract management.

Working knowledge of blueprints and plans

Working knowledge of software programs, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Timberline, Procore and CMiC.

Experience

15 years of construction management experience with a demonstrated progression of increased responsibility in project management.

5-7 years in managing staff.

Current experience managing projects with 12–20 week construction schedules in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, typically four or more active projects at one time within the past year.

Recent experience in corporate interiors / tenant improvement, including coordination of millwork, furniture integration, lighting design, and architectural finishes.

Up to Date understanding of standard building codes, city permitting processes, and construction documentation requirements.

Current experience working with corporate tenants, ownership groups, designers, and brokers, with a strong emphasis on communication and client relationship management.
