Shift Supervisor

Position Overview

S:US is seeking a Shift Supervisor for their women's shelter in Manhattan. This position is located in New York, NY, 10030.

SCOPE OF ROLE

The Shift Supervisor provides supervision and training to Residential Specialists and Community Coordinators. Responsibilities include conducting supervisory meetings, building inspections, providing ongoing performance feedback, coordinating work schedules, timesheets, and time‑off requests, managing work assignments, evaluating paperwork and documentation, and training staff. The role may also involve performing duties of residential aides or custodial personnel as needed, and maintaining fire safety.

Job Requirements

• F‑80 certification is required.
• Security license required; may be obtained within 6 months if hired.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience in security or building maintenance.
• Strong crisis‑intervention skills with good interpersonal maturity.
• Experience in office management and staff supervision.
• Experience in a large residential/institutional setting with special‑needs population.
• Strong writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• NYS Driver’s License preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
