Cloud Security Engineer

Job Description

Cloud Security Engineer Join a dynamic team focused on cloud security within a hybrid environment. This role is ideal for a seasoned security professional with expertise in cloud risk assessment, threat modeling, and implementing security controls across AWS and container orchestration platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Designs and integrates threat modeling activities into the CI/CD pipeline to evaluate security risks throughout the software development lifecycle.

Develops and implements risk assessment strategies for cloud services, including identifying vulnerabilities such as misconfigurations and unauthorized access.

Conducts compliance assessments aligned with regulatory standards and cloud security best practices, including CIS Benchmarks and AWS foundational security guidelines.

Collaborates with cloud architects to develop risk mitigation plans, including access controls, encryption, and monitoring solutions.

Implements security controls within CI/CD pipelines to ensure secure deployment processes for cloud-based applications.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience working with AWS technologies, including overseeing migrations from on-premises to AWS environments following security best practices.

Extensive experience with container orchestration platforms such as Amazon ECS Fargate and Amazon EKS.

Proven knowledge of cloud security platforms such as CNAPP, CSPM, CIEM, and CWPP solutions.

Strong understanding of cloud computing, containerization, and Kubernetes security best practices.

Experience working with CI/CD tooling and integrating security controls into pipelines.

In-depth knowledge of cloud security principles and compliance standards related to cloud, containers, and Kubernetes.

Work authorization to support a W-2 employment arrangement.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications in cloud security or related fields (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, CISSP).

Experience with cloud security frameworks and regulatory compliance beyond basic standards.

Familiarity with security incident response and monitoring tools.
