Position Overview

This position provides safe transportation for residents to scheduled activities and appointments.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Transport residents to and from medical appointments and other locations, communicating effectively with residents.
  • Ensure the safety of the residents as they enter and exit the vehicle.
  • Ensure that the residents get into the office/building of their appointment in a safe and timely manner.
  • Assist the residents with walking aids when entering and exiting the vehicle.
  • Provide a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Maintain records of resident appointments and submit to office for monthly billing per established procedures.
  • Notify supervisor of any mechanical problems/deficiencies of the vehicle.
  • When necessary, assist the lifestyle team with activities during outings.
  • Report any concerns of the resident’s well-being to supervisor or Executive Director.
  • Participate in emergency evacuation drills and help assist residents to safe areas, as needed.
  • Maintain vehicle in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
  • Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to resident, facility operations and personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience And Other Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must have Class B or C CDL license, if driving applicable bus
  • Chauffer’s license, if required by state

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to assist residents with mobility
  • Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Willingness to learn and help others
  • Enjoyment in working with older adults
