Internship Opportunity at RevelAt Revel, we are revolutionizing the way the world's most critical hardware is controlled—across aerospace, automotive, energy, and manufacturing sectors. Our next-generation software stack combines an intuitive command/control interface, a specialized programming language tailored for hardware control, and a high-performance runtime environment. We empower engineers to build, test, and deploy critical systems rapidly, reliably, and safely. The InternshipAs a Full Stack Software Engineering Intern at Revel, you'll help build the software interfaces and services that engineers use to interact with complex, mission-critical hardware. You'll work closely with experienced software engineers and operators to build intuitive browser-based interfaces, contribute to backend services and APIs, and help develop new software from the ground up. You'll have the opportunity to work across the stack and see how data moves from physical hardware through backend systems and into the applications engineers use every day. This is a great opportunity for a student who enjoys building things, cares about creating great user experiences, and wants to deepen their understanding of how modern software systems work end-to-end.What You'll DoBuild and improve browser-based user interfaces using modern web technologiesDevelop features in React and TypeScript/JavaScriptContribute to backend services and APIs that support frontend applicationsWork across the stack to build reliable data flows between hardware, backend systems, and user interfacesCollaborate with engineers and operators to understand real-world problems and turn them into intuitive software solutionsContribute to greenfield projects and help build new products from the ground upWrite clean, maintainable, and well-tested codeDebug issues across the frontend, backend, and underlying data systemsParticipate in code reviews and collaborate with experienced software engineersWhat We're Looking ForCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical fieldRising Junior or Senior graduating in 2027 or 2028Experience building software through coursework, personal projects, research, or previous internshipsExperience with JavaScript or TypeScript and familiarity with ReactBasic understanding of backend development, APIs, databases, or web servicesStrong problem-solving and debugging skillsInterest in learning how software systems work end-to-endStrong attention to usability and user experienceCurious, self-directed, and excited to learn from experienced engineersComfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsUS citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirement)Bonus PointsExperience building a full-stack project from frontend through backendFamiliarity with modern web architecture and application data flowExperience with frameworks or tools such as Next.js, Node.js, or similar technologiesExperience working with databases and SQLExposure to real-time, streaming, or event-driven data systemsExperience building applications that visualize or interact with live dataInterest in systems programming, infrastructure, performance, or developer toolsExperience with Python, Rust, C++, or other programming languagesExperience working on projects involving hardware, robotics, aerospace, automotive, or industrial systemsWhy RevelBuild software that controls real hardware — create the interfaces engineers use to interact with complex physical systemsWork across the stack — gain experience building everything from frontend applications to backend services and data systemsBuild from the ground up — contribute to greenfield projects rather than maintaining legacy softwareLearn from exceptional engineers — work closely with experienced software engineers across the stackSolve real-world problems — build software used by customers across aerospace, automotive, energy, and advanced manufacturingGrow quickly — work in a small, ambitious team where your contributions are visible and your learning curve is steepInternship DetailsProgram: Summer 2027 InternshipDuration: June - August 2027Type: Summer, paid internshipLocation: Los Angeles or San FranciscoWork environment: On-siteTravel: Occasional travel to customer sites may be requiredJoin us to redefine what's possible in software for hardware.ITAR Requirements To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
