Technical Designer

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced

Technical Designer

to join their team in Los Angeles. This role oversees the end-to-end technical design process, ensuring garments meet fit, construction, and quality standards from concept through production.

Role Description

Oversee the technical design process from initial concept through production, ensuring fit, construction, and quality standards are consistently met.

Review design concepts and develop detailed technical packages, including measurements, specifications, and construction details.

Lead fit sessions and provide clear construction and measurement guidance to internal teams and external vendors.

Partner closely with Design, Product Development, and Production to resolve construction issues and keep projects on schedule.

Track project timelines and ensure consistency across styles and categories.

Lead and mentor members of the technical design team while supporting a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment.

Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and maintain quality standards.

Support cross-functional communication to ensure projects remain aligned with quality, cost, and timeline expectations.

Qualifications

Strong technical design and garment construction expertise, with a focus on accurate fit, specifications, and quality standards.

Experience leading technical design workflows and managing projects across cross-functional teams.

Strong product development knowledge and the ability to translate design concepts into production-ready styles.Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with internal teams and external vendors.

Advanced proficiency with technical design tools and software, including CAD, PLM systems, and/or digital pattern tools.

5+ years of experience in technical design or a related apparel/fashion field, including team leadership experience.

Degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Product Development, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.
