Software EngineerJob Location: Richardson, TXDuration: 7-8 months contract with possible 3 months CTHJob Type: W2Main Tasks And Responsibilities:Provide maintenance and support for OSP 10 and Rel 7.7 software productsReview and address published vulnerabilities, ensuring the software remains secure and resilientCollaborate with a team of engineers to troubleshoot and resolve customer issuesAssist in backporting critical CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) to maintain software securityWork closely with kernel developers to address software issues and optimize performanceMaintain a thorough understanding of the software products and their functionalityCollaborate with internal teams to develop and implement software patches and updatesContribute to the improvement of software maintenance processes and proceduresStay up to date with industry trends and advancements to provide proactive support and recommendationsEnsures that assigned area/areas are delivered within set deadlines and required quality objectivesProvides estimations, agrees task duration with the manager and contributes to project plan of assigned areaAnalyzes scope of alternative solutions and makes decision about area implementation based on his/her experience and technical expertiseReports about area readiness/quality, and raises red flags in crisis situations which are beyond his/her AORInitiates and conducts code reviews, creates code standards, conventions and guidelinesCollaborates with other teamsRequired Education And Experience:Must have: 5-8 years of experience as a Senior Engineer in software maintenance and supportStrong knowledge of Corgi, Pacemaker for RHEL HA, Python, git, ansible, and Jenkins/GroovyLooking for IBM Tivoli Systems Automation for z/OS experts who can do migration from CA OPS/MVS to IBM System AutomationAbility to collaborate effectively with a distributed team across different time zonesExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skillsWould be a plus: Experience with containerization and virtualization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and VMware
