Java/AWS Software EngineerIndustry: Banking and Finance clientsLocation: Durham NC (Hybrid)Duration: Long Term projectPrimary ResponsibilitiesOwn the design and implementation of software solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements and that are aligned to the program’s strategic directionLead application design efforts, participate in design reviews and code reviews.Develop and deliver highly parallel, performance-critical web services to provide inquir access to customer dataWorking knowledge of CI/CD principles, with a willingness and ability to assist in debugging and streamlining existing processes where neededWrite service layer code with proficiency, quality and transparencyDeliver maintainable, extensible, reusable and performant solutions in a cloud environmentIdentify bottlenecks and bugs, and work to tackle themCommitted to teamwork and communication in your workKnow legacy monolithic architecture and how to convert to a micro service-based architecture.Education and ExperienceBS in Computer Science or equivalent degree and 8 plus years of professional experienceJava engineer with exposure to the following technologies and skills:A working knowledge of AWS cloud technologies and concepts (Docker, Kubernetes, developing cloud-compatible applications) is requiredKnack for writing clean, testable, readable, and easily maintainable codeDemonstrable understanding of fundamental design principles for building a scalable REST serviceExperience with middleware Java stack/Spring boot
