Job Summary

Our office in San Jose, CA is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to work in a fast‑paced multi‑discipline team environment with primary responsibility to engineer and design projects for Data Centers, Commercial, Telecom, Education, and other highly sophisticated facilities.

Responsibilities

Develop HVAC system designs of a given project based on scope of work and/or client RFPs

Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for a variety of market types

Conduct existing building surveys and documentation of existing HVAC systems

Perform load/energy calculations with a variety of software as dictated by client standards

Develop system design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings

Prepare detailed design documents, reports, and studies

Complete code compliance research

Collaborate with teammates from other design disciplines to deliver a well‑coordinated project

Provide construction administration services

Skills

Proficiency in using engineering tools and software including Autodesk software

Flexibility and willingness to work on various projects and tasks, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm

Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative to drive projects forward. Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment

Desire to learn and grow

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience with AutoCAD and Revit

Proficiency in MS Office

Ability to travel

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

2‑5 years experience in Mechanical Engineering

Registration as EIT or PE preferred

Masters or better in Mechanical Engineering

Location

San Jose, CA

Travel

Up to 40% to mainly local client sites

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this role is $85,000 to $105,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
