Job Description

Project Manager (Memphis, TN - One week a month onsite) Optomi, in partnership with a leading research hospital, is looking for a Project Manager to support complex infrastructure and technology initiatives within the Research Information Services team. The Project Manager will oversee technical projects supporting science research, including HPC hardware, data center/colocation environments, laboratory instruments, cloud technologies, and DevOps. This role requires a strong technical PM who can manage complex projects, communicate with executive and technical stakeholders, and drive initiatives through successful implementation.

Working cross-functionally with technical, research, and executive teams

What type of experience does the right candidate have: 7+ years of project management experience and an active PMP

Experience managing infrastructure/data center installations, ideally including HPC

Direct experience with DevOps projects and workflows

Knowledge of Azure/cloud, networking, virtualization, and Agile methodologies

Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and change management skills

Experience with ServiceNow PPM, Azure DevOps, or Jira

Healthcare, academic research, or scientific environment experience is a plus

What the responsibilities are of the right candidate: Manage infrastructure and development projects from planning through implementation

Coordinate HPC hardware, data center/Colo, cloud, and laboratory technology deployments

Partner with technical teams and stakeholders to manage scope, requirements, timelines, risks, and dependencies

Provide project updates and presentations to leadership

Facilitate communication across technical and research teams and navigate changing priorities
