The Electronic Security Service Technician installs, services, troubleshoots, and maintains electronic security systems including video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, alarms, and related low‑voltage equipment. This role ensures systems operate reliably, meet customer requirements, and comply with industry standards

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and testCCTV/IP camera systems, NVRs/VMS platforms, and networked security devices
  • Install and serviceaccess control systems(card readers, door hardware, controllers, biometrics)
  • Diagnose and repairintrusion alarm systems, sensors, panels, and communication modules
  • Performpreventive maintenance, system inspections, and firmware/software updates
  • Run, terminate, and labellow‑voltage cabling(Cat5/6, coax, fiber)
  • Read and interpretblueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics
  • Provide on‑site and remotetechnical supportto customers and internal teams
  • Document service activities, parts used, and system configurations
  • Ensure compliance withsafety standards, company policies, and local regulations
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to resolve complex issues

Qualifications

  • Experience with electronic security systems (video, access, intrusion)
  • Strong understanding ofIP networking, switches, PoE, and basic routing
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools (multimeter, cable tester, laptop‑based utilities)
  • Knowledge of low‑voltage wiring standards and installation best practices
  • Strong problem‑solving and customer‑service skills
  • Ability to work independently in the field
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to lift equipment and work on ladders

Other Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be able to meet and maintain various certifications, licenses and/or registrations, in accordance with applicable state laws and as required by the electronic security regulations in the state (s) worked.
  • Must be willing to participate in and pass the company’s pre-employment screening process including a background investigation and drug screening.
  • If applicable, must continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to fulfill the travel requirements of this position.
