Overview

Our client, a leading utility services organization, is seeking a Substation Design Supervisor to lead and oversee substation design projects supporting transmission and distribution systems. This role is responsible for supervising design teams, ensuring technical accuracy, managing project schedules, and supporting the successful execution of substation engineering projects.

Responsibilities

Oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of substations.

Manage a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support.

Collaborate with stakeholders to determine project requirements and goals.

Ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget.

Develop and implement design standards and procedures.

Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth project progression.

Oversee the preparation of design documents and technical specifications.

Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.

Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of substations.

Demonstrated experience in project management.

Knowledge of North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards.

Exceptional leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in using design and project management software.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Willingness to relocate as per the provided relocation package.
