Software Engineer, Platform & Tools
Why You'll Actually Care
District Partners is supporting an AI-native cybersecurity company that has just secured Series B funding after rapidly moving from launch to enterprise adoption. As AI changes how cyber threats develop, the company is expanding the software that helps organizations uncover and address exploitable risks. You'll develop products from scratch and build the platforms and tools behind that technology, with direct influence over architecture and meaningful equity participation.
The Basics
This is a hands-on software engineering role spanning Python backend development and React and TypeScript frontend applications. The work combines foundational product development with the systems engineering needed to make AI-powered capabilities reliable in production.
What You'll Be Owning
Take products from 0 to 1, translating emerging needs into technical designs, working prototypes, and production software.
Build Python backend services and orchestration capabilities that coordinate complex workflows and tool interactions.
Develop React and TypeScript applications that make platform capabilities accessible through intuitive interfaces.
Engineer systems for concurrent and distributed execution, improving responsiveness, reliability, and operating efficiency.
Build evaluation and monitoring tools that help the team understand system behavior, diagnose failures, and improve product quality.
Own delivery across the stack, including testing, debugging, rollout, and ongoing production performance.
The Environment
You'll collaborate with engineers, researchers, and product colleagues to turn evolving technical capabilities into usable software. The work requires both rapid experimentation and disciplined production engineering, with ownership extending beyond initial release. The team works together in Palo Alto 5 days per week.
What You Bring To The Table Demonstrated 0-to-1 experience developing products from scratch, with clear ownership of design, implementation, and delivery.
Strong Python backend development experience building and operating production services.
Hands-on React and TypeScript experience developing frontend applications.
Depth in backend and distributed systems, including concurrency, performance tradeoffs, and diagnosing production issues.
Strong computer science fundamentals and a rigorous academic background in computer science or a related discipline; programs recognized for engineering excellence are particularly valued.
Meaningful technical contributions within respected technology companies, successful startups, or similarly demanding engineering environments.
AI or LLM experience is ideal, particularly with tool integration, orchestration, or evaluation. Engineers with strong systems experience and an interest in developing these capabilities are also encouraged.
