Location: One in Indianapolis and One global consultant who can travel to 3 locations once a while: Kansas City, Winsow Maine and Iowa

Contract - 12+ Months.

Domain: We are seeking a Senior Implementation Engineer - Tulip MES to design, configure, and deploy digital manufacturing solutions across global pharmaceutical production facilities.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Implementation Engineer - Tulip MES to design, configure, and deploy digital manufacturing solutions across global pharmaceutical production facilities.

This role is responsible for hands-on implementation, integration, and validation of Tulip-based MES applications to enable: Electronic Batch Records (eBR)

Real-time production monitoring

Digital work instructions

Key Responsibilities

1. Tulip MES Development & Configuration Develop and configure Tulip applications to support: Electronic Batch Records (eBR)

Weigh & Dispense workflows

Equipment setup, cleaning, and line clearance

In-process QA checks and sampling workflows

Build operator-facing workflows to digitize manufacturing processes

2. System Integration

Configure and implement integrations with: ERP (SAP)

LIMS / Lab systems

SCADA / PLC / Historians

IoT devices and edge systems

Develop connectors using: APIs (REST)

SQL / Python

Ensure reliable and secure data flow across systems

Integration across MES, ERP, LIMS, and shop-floor systems is a key responsibility in Tulip implementations

3. Validation & Compliance Support and execute validation activities: URS / FRS documentation

IQ / OQ / PQ execution

Test scripts and traceability matrices

Ensure compliance with: GMP / GxP standards

21 CFR Part 11 (e-signatures, audit trails)

GAMP 5 / CSV processes

Maintain audit-ready MES solutions

Pharma MES implementations must support validation and regulatory compliance frameworks

4. Deployment & Production Support Deploy MES applications across environments: DEV → TEST → PRODUCTION

Perform: User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support

Go-live and hypercare support

Troubleshoot: Workflow issues

Integration failures

Data integrity issues

5. Continuous Improvement Monitor and optimize: System performance

User adoption

Data quality

Identify process improvements: Reduce manual steps

Improve batch execution efficiency

Enhance digital workflows based on plant feedback

Quality and compliance workflows

The engineer will work closely with manufacturing, quality, IT/OT, and validation teams to deliver compliant, production-ready MES solutions on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tulip MES Development & Configuration Develop and configure Tulip applications to support: Electronic Batch Records (eBR)

6. Cross-functional Collaboration

Work closely with: Manufacturing operations (shop floor teams)

Quality & validation

IT / Digital teams

Translate business requirements into MES solutions

Support change management and process adoption

7. Documentation & Training

Develop and maintain: SOPs

Technical design documents

Validation documents

Conduct training for: Operators

Supervisors

QA personnel

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience 5-10 years in MES / Manufacturing IT / Digital Manufacturing

3-5 years hands-on experience in MES implementation

Experience with: Tulip MES (Must)

Other MES packages, LabVantage integrations (nice to have)

• Technical Skills Tulip Platform: App building (low-code/no-code)

Workflow design

Dashboard creation

Integration: REST APIs

SQL / Python

Equipment connectivity (PLC/SCADA)

Systems: ERP (SAP)

LIMS

Manufacturing systems

• Domain Expertise Pharma / Biotech / Animal Health manufacturing

Knowledge of: Batch production processes

Quality workflows

Traceability and compliance systems

• Compliance Skills GMP / GxP

21 CFR Part 11

CSV / GAMP 5 validation lifecycle

Data integrity (ALCOA principles)

• Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting

Effective communication with plant and business teams

Ability to work in onsite / shop-floor environments

Agile / iterative delivery experience

Preferred Qualifications Experience with: Multi-site MES deployments

Digital manufacturing / Industry 4.0 programs

Exposure to: IoT-enabled manufacturing

Real-time analytics / dashboards

Certifications: MES platforms or Manufacturing IT

Cloud platforms (Azure / AWS)
