KMV Engineering is looking for an experienced structural engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects—from engineering and analysis through modeling, detailing, and construction documents.
We’re specifically looking for an engineer with approximately 5–10 years of structural engineering experience who is also highly capable in Revit.
At KMV, engineering and BIM don’t have to live in separate lanes. If you’re the kind of engineer who likes developing the solution and then working directly in the model to turn that solution into a coordinated set of construction documents, this may be a great fit.
We’re a growing structural engineering firm based in Dallas working on industrial, manufacturing, aviation, mission‑critical, commercial, education, and specialty projects across the country.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll have the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of projects, including:
Performing structural analysis and design
Developing structural systems and engineering solutions
Building and managing structural Revit models
Developing coordinated structural construction documents and details
Coordinating directly with architects, contractors, owners, and other consultants
Performing site observations and providing construction‑phase support
Managing project scope, schedule, and deliverables appropriate to your experience
The goal isn’t to simply complete your piece and hand it to someone else. We want engineers who enjoy understanding how the analysis, model, details, and final documents work together.
What We’re Looking For
The right candidate:
Has approximately 5–10 years of structural engineering experience
Is a licensed Professional Engineer, PE or SE
Has strong structural analysis and design capabilities
Is proficient in Revit and comfortable working directly within structural models
Understands how to develop complete and coordinated construction documents
Takes ownership and follows through
Communicates clearly and proactively
Welcomes review and uses feedback to make the work better
Pays attention to details without losing sight of the overall structural solution
Wants responsibility, not just assignments
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates proactively, and consistently moves projects forward.
Why This Role Is Different
Some engineers prefer to focus on calculations and pass their design to someone else for modeling and documentation.
Others want to stay closer to the entire process.
If you enjoy designing the structure, getting into Revit, developing the details, coordinating the documents, and seeing your ideas make their way into the field, you’ll have the opportunity to do that here.
KMV is a small team by design. That means less separation between engineering, modeling, project coordination, and leadership—and more opportunity to understand and influence the entire project.
Why KMV
Small team with significant individual responsibility
Direct access to firm leadership
Diverse and technically interesting project portfolio
Opportunity to work across engineering, BIM, project delivery, and construction
Opportunity to make a visible impact on the firm as we grow
Competitive compensation and benefits
Annual discretionary bonus
Medical, dental, and vision coverage
401(k) retirement plan
PTO and paid holidays
