Job Description

We are looking for a strong, hands‑on Software Development Manager to lead the AWS Resource Access Manager (RAM) team. RAM is the service that lets customers securely share AWS resources across accounts and organizations, and our vision is bold: make every AWS resource type shareable.

Today, RAM supports dozens of resource types. Tomorrow, we want every resource in the AWS ecosystem to be shareable with the simplicity, security, and governance that customers expect. You will be the leader who makes that happen — working with service teams across all of AWS to bring resource sharing to every corner of the cloud.

This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of security, multi‑tenancy, and platform scale. If you’re excited by the idea of building the connective tissue that lets organizations collaborate seamlessly across account boundaries, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do Lead a high-performing team of Software Development Engineers building and operating AWS RAM, a foundational resource sharing service used by millions of AWS customers

Own the resource sharing vision — drive the technical strategy to onboard every AWS resource type onto the RAM platform, expanding what customers can share and how they govern it

Architect at scale — work hands‑on with your engineers to design systems that are secure, highly available, and operate at AWS scale across all regions

Be the connective force across AWS — partner with service teams organization‑wide to integrate resource sharing into new and existing services, influencing how AWS thinks about cross‑account collaboration

Operational excellence — ensure the team maintains a high bar for availability, security, and performance as RAM serves as critical infrastructure for cross‑account resource sharing

Build and grow world‑class talent — hire, mentor, and develop engineers at all levels; create an environment where people do the best work of their careers

Key job responsibilities Define and drive the long‑term vision for AWS resource sharing — own the product and architecture strategy for RAM, with the goal of making every AWS resource type shareable across accounts and organizations

Scale the platform across AWS — partner with service teams across the organization to onboard new resource types onto RAM, expanding the reach and impact of resource sharing for customers

Deliver with velocity and quality — execute against project plans and delivery commitments; manage day‑to‑day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment

Build and develop a world‑class team — recruit, hire, mentor, and retain top engineering talent; create a culture of ownership and growth where engineers do their best work and advance their careers

Own operational excellence — drive continuous improvement of availability, performance metrics, and automation for RAM services; ensure the team operates with a high bar as the service scales

Communicate and influence — represent the team’s progress, technical strategy, and operational health to senior leadership; advocate for resource sharing as a foundational capability across AWS

About the team The Resource Access Manager (RAM) team builds and operates the service that enables AWS customers to securely share resources across accounts and organizations. We’re part of AWS Identity and Access Management, and our mission is to make every AWS resource type shareable.

We work at the intersection of security, scale, and cross‑team collaboration — partnering with services across AWS to expand the reach of resource sharing. Our culture values deep ownership, pragmatic delivery, and investing in each other’s growth. If you want to build platform infrastructure that shapes how millions of customers govern their AWS environments, this is the team.
