Customer Service Associate

In this area, you'll be on the front line of ensuring customer satisfaction by striving to answer questions, solve problems and assist in a variety of ways. With an outgoing personality, a desire to help others, and an ability to solve problems, you'll guarantee each customer has a positive experience as they end their shopping trip at Wegmans!

What will I do?

• Engage customers in friendly conversation while making eye contact and smiling
• Proactively offer additional assistance or services and thank the customer for shopping at Wegmans
• Properly bag items to ensure products arrive at their destination in the condition they left the store
• Partner with departments to ensure questions are answered and problems are resolved

Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as light to medium. Work includes repetitive hand and arm movement, walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, occasional bending, frequent reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. May be asked to work at cash register station (see Cashier). The average weight range of items lifted is 3 - 8 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 40 pounds occasionally. Upper extremity repetition is moderate and trunk movement involves moderate twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors. Basic tools and equipment used include cash register, lottery machine, telephone, and computer.; Experience working as a cashier and operating a cash register; Collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting
