Customer Services Representative I

FLSA: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

$21.19 - 25.42/hr

General Description of Position

The Customer Services Representative I is a primary point of contact for Uha members, providers, and prospective clients. This position provides accurate, responsive, and compassionate assistance with questions related to eligibility, benefits, provider services, prior authorizations, prescription benefits, and claims. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced call center environment.

What You'll Do

  • Provide professional and compassionate service to members, providers, and prospective clients by phone.
  • Assist with questions regarding eligibility, enrollment, benefits, coverage, claims, and provider services.
  • Provide information and support related to prior authorizations and prescription drug benefits.
  • Research inquiries using Uha systems and resources to provide timely and accurate information.
  • Resolve routine customer concerns and appropriately escalate more complex issues.
  • Accurately document customer interactions and follow established call center procedures.
  • Collaborate with other Uha departments to ensure members and providers receive appropriate assistance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Uha benefits, policies, procedures, and systems.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally and empathetically.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time management.
  • Comfortable navigating multiple computer applications while assisting customers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced customer service environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Recent healthcare industry experience.
  • At least six months of customer service experience.
