Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Houston, TX that is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build, enhance, and support enterprise applications used across pricing, transaction management, supply operations, reporting, and other business-critical functions. This individual will develop scalable APIs, data integrations, and React-based web applications while supporting cloud infrastructure, production environments, and legacy application modernization. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with Python, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, containerized applications, and AWS or GCP. Experience supporting energy, utilities, commodity trading, or other high-volume transactional environments is highly preferred.Key Responsibilities Design, build, test, and maintain scalable full stack applications and services

Develop and support RESTful APIs used for pricing, transaction management, supply operations, reporting, and system integrations

Build responsive web applications and internal control interfaces using React and JavaScript

Develop backend services and automation using Python

Design applications that process high-volume business transactions and data

Work with PostgreSQL databases, including application-level data modeling, querying, performance optimization, and troubleshooting

Create integrations that consume and process data through REST APIs, EDI, XML, CSV files, and other external sources

Develop and maintain web scraping or data acquisition solutions when required

Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes

Support application deployments and production environments within AWS or GCP

Implement application monitoring, alerting, logging, and operational support processes.

Troubleshoot production issues across application, database, integration, and infrastructure layers.

Contribute to disaster recovery, backup, system upgrade, and business continuity planning.

Skills 5 or more years of professional software development experience

Strong full stack application development experience

Hands-on development experience with Python and JavaScript

Experience building modern web applications using React

Strong experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs

Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in an application development environment

Experience with Docker and containerized application development

Experience deploying or supporting applications within AWS or GCP

Experience working with Linux and Windows operating environments

Understanding of application architecture, system design, and high-volume transaction processing

Experience with Git-based development and release processes

Ability to troubleshoot issues across the application, database, integration, and cloud infrastructure layers

Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Kubernetes

Experience with GraphQL

Experience with SQL Server

Experience building or maintaining web scrapers

Experience processing EDI, XML, and CSV data

Experience with application monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog or comparable tools

Scripting and infrastructure automation experience

Experience with disaster recovery, database backups, infrastructure upgrades, and production support

Experience modernizing or integrating legacy applications

Experience within energy retail, utilities, natural gas, commodity trading, or a related industry

Understanding of business functions such as pricing, billing, supply, sales, transaction management, risk, and reporting

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
