Pay rate is $20 per hour, paid weekly. This is a flexible (FLEX) position with 8-hour shifts requiring open availability. A California Guard License is required prior to hire, and candidates must be at least 21 years old. Prior law enforcement experience, military experience, and/or two years of unarmed security are a plus.Security officers will help prevent and deter crime through:Performing regular and random patrols of multiple premisesReporting any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrencesPerforming control procedures when necessaryOperating emergency equipmentDocumenting nightly operations and filing weekly reportsInvestigating breaches of propertyRequirements include:Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skillsSound communication skillsProfessional presentationAbility to work as a team member and soloWillingness and ability to work a flexible roster, seven days a weekPhysical and mental job requirements include:Effective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to read and interpret written informationAbility to drive a motor vehicle if requiredAbility to detect and identify sounds relevant to emergenciesAbility to walk, run, stand, climb, sitAbility to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. waist high if requiredGood mental health and ability to make decisions instantly in emergenciesMeeting the physical and mental requirements of the state to obtain the required security licenseQualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.
